Signature Service

Families use Doyen’s Signature Process to intercede on a crisis affecting their family or a loved one. They often feel like they have tried everything or have no idea where to start. If this resonates with you, our Signature Process may be for you.

“Confrontational approaches in general, though once the norm even in many behavioral treatment settings, have not been found effective and may backfire by heightening resistance and diminishing self-esteem on the
part of the targeted individual.”

– 2016’s Surgeon General’s Report

WE THEN INTEGRATE A THREE-PRONGED APPROACH TO CHANGE:

Create Connection

Evidence proves that social support and meaningful relationships are just as crucial to wellbeing as food and water. Unfortunately, addiction and mental illness often to lead to withdrawal, isolation and abandonment from those closest to them. Our goal is to build authentic connection outside the current support system. We begin this step by providing families with a specific script to introduce this Doyen Advisor.

Discover Motivation

Motivation to change is not always present – sometimes, we must create it! To create sustainable change, we must first identify the motivators. These are often different from their families and tends to be one of the reasons we were hired. Your Family Advisor will equip you with the specific techniques and skills that are evidence proven to create the motivation you are looking for.

Find Relief

Tailored recommendations are developed to specifically address both motivation for change and the underlying issues driving the harmful behaviors. The recommendations are specific to you and your family and are based off our holistic assessment where we explore the history of mental health symptoms, trauma and other maladaptive coping behaviors. A step-by-step process is outlined for you of how to implement this plan with our continued support. Additionally, our plan is likely to include recommendations for all parties involved in an effort to create the most sustainable change possible.

Build a Relationship of trust

We involve your loved one in the process whenever possible, as early in the process as possible. We believe that their point of view is crucial to their successful recovery, and we want to communicate that to them. Building a relationship of rapport and trust allows us to come alongside them as we all, collectively, navigate their recovery journey.

Frequently Asked Questions

My loved one is refusing help. How can we get them involved?

While we cannot FORCE anyone to change, we can create motivation to change. Though our process is inclusive and invitational, there are still times when a loved one refuses to engage. When this occurs, we carefully coach the family system to identify limits and boundaries that they can set to increase motivation for engagement.

You say you do interventions, but we refuse to do that to our loved one. How can you help?

Doyen believes in transparency and inclusion. We make it our goal to build trust with you, and your loved one. Your Family Advisor will walk you through how to invite someone into this process for change, without confrontation or surprises.

We need help NOW. How long does this process take?

We understand that your family is in crisis and needs help now. Within 24-hours of engaging with Doyen, your family will be given a team of compassionate and skilled Advisors to provide immediate coaching for what may be going on. In the following 3-5 days, we assess the current support system to create a healthy understanding of your family’s needs and build a customized plan of recommendations and engagement for relief.
